WorldWinds has developed a species-specific offshore sport fishing analysis. This system considers all available data from satellites, modeling efforts, and in-situ observations concerning a number of parameters, such as water clarity and color, weed line locations, bathymetry information, and more. All of these parameters are then compared to a database of known species preferences for species such as Sailfish, Yellow Fin Tuna, Swordfish, Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi), and many more. This system can indicate to fishermen where specific species preferences have been met in order to save fuel and time and improve their chances of a successful day on the water. Observational data provided directly to mariners includes high resolution satellite derived sea surface temperature (SST).
