WorldWinds also operationally provides mariners with model forecasts of atmospheric and oceanic conditions. The U.S. Navy’s Coupled Ocean / Atmosphere Prediction System (COAMPS) has been run operationally for the last ten years to provide mariners accurate forecasts of wind, pressure, and visibility while at sea.  Also, the wave model WaveWatch III has been employed to provide wave forecast data to mariners.  Further, WorldWinds has applied additional wave physics and terms to provide for shallow water waves where forecast model data is unavailable or smaller water bodies are not well resolved by model grids.
